A shot of the first-order Fresnel Lens on display in the fog signal building at Point Arena Lighthouse Museum. Powered with three double-bull’s eyes, the lens beam traveled 20 miles out into the Pacific, producing a double-white flash every six seconds.
Point Arena is located 130 winding miles north of San Francisco, just off Hwy 1 in Mendocino County. Spouse and I stayed at the Lighthouse Keeper’s Apartment this weekend to celebrate our 28th anniversary.
More Point Arena photos coming soon.
