I consider myself lucky to have caught this fleeting expression on my son’s face with the wind ruffling his hair. He was three-years-old, surveying Waikiki Beach for the first time. A hotel fountain ignored in the background.

Judy, when I lived in Miliani Town for 4 years, there was nothing more beautiful than Wakiki Beach, You captured a very beautiful moment! It will be a timeless treasure always!.

What a lovely photo. You have captured wonderfully the way small children seem to try and hold in their excitement by putting their hands over their mouth. My son used to do it too!

Thank you, Su. What a perceptive observation about their excitement. I miss that my son doesn’t do that any more–now that he’s a teenager! : )

Me too. Mine’s 15 and way too cool to be excited about much. Although we did recently go to a show called “The Illusionists” – which was seven magicians, contortionists, etc on stage doing some really crazy stuff. He was genuinely excited about that!!!
